He was wounded in the ankle and captured in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
Hospitalized at Frederick, MD. Paroled and transferred to Aiken’s Landing, VA where he was received 22 October 1862 and exchanged on 10 November 1862. Reported absent wounded or absent on detail through February 1865.
