Before Antietam

He went to Lafayette County, WI with his family in 1844. From Centre, he enlisted in Company H, 3rd Wisconsin Infantry on 22 April 1861. He was promoted to Corporal, Sergeant, and First Sergeant, dates not given.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

The rest of the War

He mustered out with his Company on 18 July 1865.

After the War

He moved to Jasper County, MO about 1868 and was a farmer, ran a flour mill, and invested in real estate. He moved to the city of Carthage about 1896.
